300 students, plus teachers & parents. Parents & older kids can build & paint planter boxes. Kids fill it with soil, plants, water. Teachers explain importance of “Green cycle” in classrooms.
School shares the parking lot with Ascension church. Community walks past the garden on Sundays. Some parishioners have kids at the school. We can sell some of the fruit at school fundraisers.
No park within 20 blocks. No shade on playground for kids. Trees would create an oasis. Over 80% kids on food program. Fresh fruit & veggies help kids and teach them about the Earth.
