I was at the site earlier this evening - it looks amazing! everything is already starting to fill in. the vegetable portion of the garden is incredible - the tallest tomato plants I've ever seen, the largest collard green leaves, and the squash leaves look like elephant ears they are so lush. Nice work, NELA Transition, Throop parishioners, and neighbors!

This project is so fantastic! I've had dozens of students participate and they enjoyed the work and learned a lot. It's a pleasure to drive by Throop and see the progress! I can't imagine a more worthy group to receive the funds!

Coming from a neighboring community this food garden/forest is an inspiration and encourages goodwill....it empowers each one who participates or even just curious onlookers to want to be a part of something good. thank's to Therese and team for the hard work, perseverance and dedication. This is just the beginning!

This idea strikes me as the most thoughtful and well-planned one. I think this garden will create a long-term impact on everyone who participates. Touching the earth, nurturing life, and forming communal bonds all engender memories and lessons that will last a lifetime. And let's hear it for Pasadena!

This Pasadena project is inspiring, bringing community together to create food and beauty in the city on a busy street corner. There is a wide assortment of volunteers from different parts of the community. I like that! I also like the attention to a low water productive garden.

We intend to purchase trees and water-retention/water capture system related materials with these funds. We have successfully converted another 4,000sq.ft. area on this same site using locally donated or repurposed material as much as possible. Our costs are in the trees and plants themselves.
